Coworking

What is Coworking?

Coworking is a type of work arrangement that involves multiple people working together or separately in a shared office space. These individuals can be anything from employees, freelancers, entrepreneurs, remote workers, teams, and other professionals working within the same environment.

What are the different types of coworking models?

Coworking can be simplified into two broad categories:

  • Physical coworking models: These are shared workspaces or dedicated offices within a physical location where individuals or teams come together for focused work or collaboration. There are a number of physical coworking models:
  • Open coworking spaces: Shared open spaces where individuals from different companies or professions work side-by-side.
  • Private coworking spaces: Offer private offices for individuals or teams and a more enclosed working environment while still benefiting from shared amenities.
  • Corporate coworking spaces: Typically offered by larger corporations to provide corporate-style workspaces for their employees or to the public.
  • Luxury coworking spaces
  • Specialized coworking spaces: Spaces tailored to specific industries or professions that gather a community of like-minded individuals.
  • Coliving coworking spaces: Combines shared living accommodations with coworking facilities in an integrated environment.
  • Virtual coworking: This centers around remote collaboration and shared workspaces facilitated by digital tools and technologies. Participants can connect and collaborate through various digital platforms, such as video conferencing, messaging apps, project management tools, and virtual collaboration spaces.
